Casino

Our bi-annual casino was held on Friday May 21 and Saturday May 22, 2010.  Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered.  Most parents expressed surprise at how much fun volunteering at a casino actually is.  We look forward to our next casino, which will theoretically be held in 2012.

Those who participated in 2008 (and 2010) had a lot of fun, and we have reaped the benefits of the much-needed funding ($90,000) for our programs so that our children can have programming enriched with music and summer field trips and we can enjoy the benefits of lower-than average child care fees.  

Volunteer

As a not-for-profit, parent-run society, Monarch Child Care has many volunteer opportunities for interested parents.  Do you have a talent you would like to share with the children in the program?  Are you able to help with maintenance needs around the centre?  Are you a talented writer interested in helping with grant applications, policy writing or revision?  Feel free to speak to Ela if you are interested in an opportunity to contribute your time to the centre.

Board of Directors

The Centre is administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. The board meets monthly and often members participate on a sub-committee level as well.  Elections to the Board of Directors are held at the Annual General Meeting in June.
