Congratulations
Monarch Child Care Society would like to congratulate our Executive Director, Ela, for being honoured with an Alberta Child Care Professional Award of Excellence! Ela was the winner in the Urban Out-of-School Care category. The award selection committee, consisting of representatives from the child care community, based its decisions on which nominees demonstrated the greatest innovation and creativity, including how they supported children's development and well-being, celebrated diversity and nurtured the individuality of each child. Welcome to Monarch Child Care Society
Monarch Child Care Society (MCCS), located in the Victoria School of the Arts, is a high-quality, accredited out-of-school care (OSC). We offer care for children in Kindergarten through Grade Six. We are a not-for-profit centre that is governed by parent volunteers.
Our philosophy is to build positive relationships with children, families and the community. Our qualified staff creates a nurturing and enriched environment that fosters the development of the whole child.
Goals and Objectives
For our children:
- develop healthy self-esteem and positive self-concept
- broaden physical skills through indoor and outdoor experiences
- learn to problem-solve and resolve conflicts with others
- learn appropriate social behaviour
For our centre:
- offer activities, materials and experiences which stimulate intellectual development
- provide opportunities for the enhancement of creativity
- foster an environment of acceptance towards children, their families, language and culture
- ensure the compliance of the centre with the safety procedures
Hours and Days of Operation
MCCS is open Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., offering childcare during school in-service days and school holidays. The Centre is closed on all statutory holidays.
